Fo(u)r Women is a theatrical mixed-media dance celebration of four women of the Greater Middle East who triumphed over cultural and religious obstacles to attain greatness in their respective lives and times. Through song, dance, and spoken word and aided by multimedia projections of photos, and archival film footage, Fo(u)r Women tells the story of women's timeless struggles for freedom to overcome the circumstances of their male-dominated societies. Fo(u)r Women features the stories of: Enhedhuanna from Ancient Mesopotamia, the first known poet/author in history; Hatshepsut, the Egyptian Queen who declared herself a Pharaoh; Oum Khaltoum, the legendary Egyptian singer of the 20th Century, and Malala Yousafzai, the Nobel Peace Prize-winning Pakistani girl, who was almost killed by the Taliban, defending girls' rights to an education. Each story embodies the majestic power and resilience of the human spirit, providing an illuminating look at women's contributions through the ages, and an antidote to the forces that would turn back the clock on human evolution.
